Out There Arts Program

Out There Arts

Here's the Deal

Out There Arts (OTA) lets you discover all that the arts in Atlanta have to offer. From the High Museum of Art and the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, to the Alliance Theatre, Actor's Express and more, Atlanta has a thriving arts scene if only you can get there. We're here to help.

OTA provides the resources you need to get out there and explore the world of arts and culture beyond Emory in metropolitan Atlanta. Pretty cool, right?

Here's What You Do

Emory College student groups, residence life representatives and faculty can submit applications at any point during the academic year. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, so don't procrastinate. OTA covers all or part of the cost of admission to arts events off campus and may also contribute toward transportation costs depending on the case. This might include providing a flat fee for MARTA, subsidy for taxicab fare, reimbursement for personal auto mileage, or shuttle rental.

Applications for Fall Semester 2018 will be accepted August 20 - September 17, 2018

Applications for Spring Semester 2019 will be accepted December 17, 2018 - January 14, 2019

Check out our tips for applying to OTA.

Any Limitations?

Your group must have a minimum of 10 students signed up for your arts expedition, but cannot exceed 25. Also, we don't encourage you to apply for programs sponsored by commercial presenting organizations (Broadway shows that come to town, rock and pop concerts, etc.). Atlanta has hundreds of events produced and performed by local artists each year, so let's support them. Chances are, it will be more rewarding than seeing a show you can see anywhere in the country.

While faculty may certainly apply for more than one Out There Arts a semester, we will only approve one outing at a time, so as to give everyone an opportunity to apply.

The CCA does reserve the right to refuse any request.
